Swoosh

Think deeply about your actions,
but not too deeply.

Push the limits of understanding,
Put everything to the question.

Drink fully the cup of life;
Take its dark wine into your soul,
For it passes round the table only once.

"drink fully the cup of life"

This part is so hard for me. Sometimes there is this guilt that taking time just to fully drink from the cup of life is selfish or frivilous...

Your writing challenges me to ponder....thank you.

Ashlee,
What we were talking about on your blog encouraged me to write Swoosh.

If we stepped out and chose action over passivity, there would be a lot less depression in the world. A lot less of many hurtful things actually.

I'm reminded of how Jesus told us that we must be like children to enter the kingdom of Heaven. Children dont worry , they swoosh!

They trust their Fathers and Mothers to take care of them.

Tmproff, that is so true. Children (for the most part) don't worry. They do. They love without limits or bounds. They sing at the top of their lungs. They dance in front of people. They laugh loud, really loud. And they cry when they have been hurt.

I think you are right about the importance of doing. Doing and trusting my Father to take care of everything else. Action over passivity. Share the compliment. Send the letter. Invite them to lunch. Buy the flowers... or whatever it is that is laid on your heart.

I am all in favor of acting like children. (On a serious note, this is exactly what I think John 10:10b means - "I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.")

So who wants to go to the park? :)

I've said this before, but I think we (humans) are here on this planet for one reason only. To worship and glorify our Creator!

Yes, we worship through singing / dancing / clapping our hands, but much more often can we worship through our everyday actions.

So the question is....Do I want to worship God to the fullest today?

Hmm Ashlee, that's a hard question.

As broken / sinful people, I dont think we'll ever hit the limit here on Earth, but close would have to be where all of your actions are in His will.

I've always thought about the verse : "Delight yourself in the LORD, and he shall give you the desires of your heart"

I've thought that to mean that if we are in His will, our desires would be His desires. That's what I think ultimate worship is.
